My name is zainab Abdulla .I'm studying information technology at Bahrain training institute
In my presentation today I'll talk about ICT Tools to help the visually impaired.there are 3 main point we will take one by one
First of all I'll talk about hardware tools then I'll talk about software tools. And finally I'll give u other tools to help visually impaired.
Hardware tools
1. Screen reader : is a Windows application to a standard PC, but its mission is to work effectively with other programs on your computer and tell the blind what is on the screen .
2. Braillewriter : Is a mechanical writing machine contains six keys represent the six Braille points. The machine is designed to allow operation through the use of three middle fingers of each hand.
3. Kurzweil Personal Reader : It is a computer recognize visual symbols through a special camera, scans the content of the paper fast, and the device read aloud through a special analysis.
4.Talking Books :Means registration books or periodicals, or other information on the tapes is one of those particular alternatives, since they heard of a disabled person visually recorded material instead of using a sighted person to read it.
Software tools
Target product : convert text files of different symbols to Braille and vice versa.

Voice Stick, a text scanning device for the visually impaired. As the name suggests, the stick when scanned in the printed letters, the OCR function recognizes the text and converts the information into voice.

This innovative device comprises a Rainbow Picker in a form of a scrollwheel, which contains Braille dots that allows blind people to select a color from 24 available. After selecting a color, this device differentiates the colors by generating varied temperatures through LED bulbs.
